ROOTS & SHOOTS INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

Following Dr. Jane's lead as a UN Messenger of Peace, members and friends of Roots & Shoots are called to celebrate peace each year in honor of United Nations International Day of Peace.

So that families can celebrate together, Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace is held on the weekend closest to the UN observance of the Day of Peace. In 2009, Roots & Shoots members and friends gathered and celebrated Day of Peace on September 20. In 2010, celebrations are being planned for September 19.
