What To Do

DoveMaking

Getting started with your plans for Day of Peace is so easy. Here's a few things to make sure you include in your plans.

Make a Giant Peace Dove Puppet.
Get crafty while promoting peace. Younger children can make individual
Small Peace Doves out of a Recycled Grocery Bags, out of Paper, or make Peace Dove Ornaments out of recyled materials.

Plan a project that promotes peace.
Act as a messenger of peace in your community. To see how Roots & Shoots members celebrate peace, explore the Project Database or read about one group's project ideas.

Organize a Day of Peace community or school event.
Download our Five Easy Steps to Celebrating Roots & Shoots Day of Peace. At your event, listen to "Circle the World," Dana Lyons' song inspired by Roots & Shoots Day of Peace. Read the lyrics, learn the chords or get a copy of the CD.

Submit stories and photos from Day of Peace activities.
We use your amazing stories and images in our annual Day of Peace Book and in our Online Photo Gallery. Follow the instructions in the Day of Peace Photo Submission Checklist.

Be sure to let us know about your 2011 Day of Peace plans!
