Get involved! Make a real difference for your students, for your campus, for yourself

Besides a parent, no role is more important or has more of a profound impact on a student’s life than that of a mentor. In fact, the real secret to the success of Roots & Shoot is the continued commitment of the many caring adults who dedicate their time and energy to help guide and support our youth. As a professor, your guidance is essential toward helping students realize their true potential as an individual and as a positive, productive member of our society.

Become A Roots & Shoots Mentor
By working with a Roots & Shoots group at your college or university, you’ll have the opportunity to help plan and implement a variety of community service projects both on and off campus, together with students who share your same interests and commitment to making positive change for animals, the environment and the human community. Your participation as a faculty advisor and mentor will help encourage and empower students to turn their knowledge into action, employing practical tactics for tackling real world issues. Your involvement also helps ensure that the group will continue to flourish even after current student members graduate. Join Roots & Shoots today and gain access to all the tools and resources you need to get a group started, including a quick reference Roots & Shoots Handbook as well as low cost activity guides.
Sign up to become a Roots & Shoots Group Leader

Even if you don’t have immediate plans to lead or mentor a Roots & Shoots group, you can sign up for a Roots & Shoots Individual Membership. You will get access to all the Roots & Shoots tools and materials you need to learn more about our program, and you’ll receive our eNewsletters and print newsletters so you’ll stay up to date with what groups around the world are doing.
