Become a Roots & Shoots Group Leader
You can start a Roots & Shoots group in your own school or community*. Our High School Starter Kit and Roots & Shoots Handbook are full of tools, tips and ideas for recruiting members, leading a group and initiating projects, as well as getting the support of faculty, community and family members. You can also get your parents or teachers involved with this great program and encourage them to become Roots & Shoots group leaders.

Sign Up For An Individual Roots & Shoots Membership
Not sure you are ready for the responsibility of leading your own group? You can sign up for an individual Roots & Shoots membership instead. As an individual member you won’t lead a group, but you can still get involved! Talk with other Roots & Shoots members on our Discussion Boards*, join one of our Campaigns and check out our Resource Center to learn more about Roots & Shoots. And you'll get all our eNewsletters and newsletters to keep you up to date.

Join An Existing Roots & Shoots Group
If joining an existing Roots & Shoots group feels like the best option for you, try using our Find a Group function to find a Roots & Shoots group in your area that is accepting new members, then send a message to that group requesting to join. Even if you don't find a group in your neighborhood, connecting with a group leader in your region or state could give you the ideas and inspiration you need to get your own group started!

Join The Youth Leadership Council
Discover yourself by discovering your potential as a member of one of our Youth Leadership Councils. By serving as a dedicated youth ambassador, you'll have the unique opportunity to experience Roots & Shoots at a higher level. You’ll get to travel, interact with some of the most motivated young people in the country, provide support for other Roots & Shoots groups and strengthen our global network. You may also be considered for a Roots & Shoots Youth Fellowship.
