Some have described the youth of today as a lost generation, self-centered and hopeless. However, there are young people who are defying that stereotype.

Youth leaders from Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots network, ranging from ages 15 to 23, came from all over the country last weekend to help the Louisiana Bucket Brigade with oil spill relief efforts. Roots and Shoots is a global environmental and humanitarian youth program for young people from preschool through college.
