As part of a growing grassroots campaign called O2 for You: Houseplants with a Purpose, Roots & Shoots New England teamed up with Costa Farms, the largest distributor of indoor plants in America, to create a breath of fresh air for some of Boston’s new mothers.
On May 14, Roots & Shoots group, B.O.L.D. (Breath of Life Dorchester) Teens of Dorchester, Mass, along with volunteers from Costa Farms delivered hundreds of Peace Lilies to new mothers and their babies in the Boston Medical Center and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. The volunteers also distributed the plants to local residents in the Codman Square area of Dorchester, Mass. These plants provided a “gift of fresh air” and will reduce common indoor air pollutants.

Thanks again to the B.O.L.D. Teens for participating and Costa Farms for bringing the O2 for You campaign to Boston! It was another great collaboration of Roots & Shoots groups and our local community members! The next stop for this Roots & Shoots and Costa Farms collaboration is Chicago, Illinois. |
