Monarch Butterfly Restoration - the home school class

All summer long, we collected monarch caterpillars and eggs, and raised them at home. When they formed into chrysalis, we carefully removed them from the nursery, and hung them on a coat hanger outside. We learned from a mistake last year to keep emerging butterflies away from the caterpillars. We took the caterpillars to the park and home school events, girl scouts, gave them away to neighbors, and met up with friends to look for eggs.
