"Belonging to R&S is like being part of a global family. Connecting with other groups and leaders through the Internet, newsletters, and interpersonal contact is a great source of support and encouragement."
- Anne Goldfeld, Scottsdale, Arizona
Connect with your children, Connect with others!
Are you looking for common interests that you can share with your child? Do you wish you could relate to each other more positively? Roots & Shoots helps bring you and your child closer together with community service projects that are fun, safe and easy for the whole family to rally around.
As you plan and implement activities with your child, you'll develop stronger bonds and engage in communications that help cement your relationship
Participating in hands-on service projects with your child—from recycling your family's trash to organizing a more ambitious neighborhood clean-up campaign—creates a win-win scenario for your family and for society at the same time!
Your child's quest to make a difference at home, in your community and around the world, changes his or her outlook as an individual, as a member of your family and as a member of society
A program they’ll never outgrow!
Roots & Shoots is a program that is by nature highly flexible, with genuine staying power that never grows old. Unlike some groups that appeal to children at certain ages, or clubs that may have rigid rules and finite goals, you choose how to employ, and how to enjoy, your projects. So, as your child progresses from preschool through college, and as he becomes more aware of global issues, Roots & Shoots matures with him. There is never a project kids think is "uncool" or "stupid," because they're the ones determining what activities to design and implement! As you stay involved with your child on projects, you'll continue to bond with him as he grows into a more positive adult. And, while your child grows, Roots & Shoots continues to broaden his perspective, providing an opportunity to see things on a worldwide scale and recognize the interconnectedness of all living things.
