Roots & Shoots requires the participation of concerned and committed adults. As a parent, what could be more rewarding than helping your children improve their self-esteem and develop life skills? There are many different ways to get involved as a Roots & Shoots parent:
Become a Group Leader
Starting a Roots & Shoots Group with your family is a perfect way to spend precious, quality time with your children and your spouse-planning and implementing community-based projects that are interesting and fun for all. Or, take the initiative to recruit members and start a Roots & Shoots group at your child's school, your church or a community group in your area. Getting started is easy with the Roots & Shoots Handbook, and you'll find ideas and inspiration from our project database, discussion boards, campaigns and activity guides. Sign Up for a Premium Individual Roots & Shoots Membership
Don't have time to take on the full responsibility of leading your own group? You can sign up for an individual Roots & Shoots membership instead. As an individual member you won't lead a group, but you can still access Roots & Shoots tools and materials to learn more about our program, and you'll receive our eNewsletters and newsletters to keep you in the loop. If your child is already involved with a Roots & Shoots group at school, an individual membership helps you to stay connected and show your support. Sign up for a Premium Individual group Membership.
Join an Existing Roots & Shoots Group
If joining an existing Roots & Shoots group feels like the best option for your family, try using our Find a Group function to find a Roots & Shoots group in your area that is accepting new members, then send a message to that group requesting to join. Even if you don't find a group in your neighborhood, connecting with a group leader in your region or state could give you the ideas and inspiration you need to get your own group started!
