The Problem

Our wish is that people will learn about aquaponics, which is a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics. The fish excrement is converted by nitrifying bacteria to fertilizer for the plants, which in turn, filter the water for the fish.

Our Plan

Alverno students will build a mini aquaponics system for demonstrating aquaponics at outreach events.
