The Problem

Our wish for this project is to help keep our community clean of trash, beginning with the area surrounding our school and all the way to the nearby Forest Park.

Our Plan

Being part of a 'Leader In Me' school, our 2nd grade group members have been learning about various traits of good leaders. Being compassionate leaders, we want to act with purpose and inspire others around us to take care of our beautiful mother Earth. We will begin doing so by taking care of the community we are a part of. We plan on bringing attention to and reducing environmental pollutants in the area around our school and nearby Forest Park. We will add at least 2 new recycling bins around the school perimeters with visible signs for people passing by. We will also schedule field trips to Forest Park with other 2nd grade groups to show them how to throw away or recycle trash properly to keep the park clean for animals and visitors.
