The Problem
We would like to create a text rich environment where kindness and compassion can flourish. We live in a rural community with many different cultures present. I would love for my students to have access to culturally diverse rich text.
Our Plan
In order for children to begin to feel comfortable with diversity, they must first feel a strong sense of self. Finding ways to celebrate individuality within a group helps each child to feel special, significant, and acknowledged. Students will gain access to a wide variety of diverse fiction books.
