What is your wish for this project?

We wish to demonstrate to our community that drought tolerant landscaping is beautiful. People do not have to choose between artificial turf or rocks and cacti. Drought tolerant landscaping in Southern California can include lush gardens of native plants that enhance homes while attracting native insects, birds and other wildlife.

How did it go?

The Horace Mann Horticulture Club (15-20 middle school students) researched the types of flowering drought tolerant plants that thrive in Southern California. They purchased and planted two large demonstration pots with a variety of lush looking drought tolerant plants.
