What is your wish for this project?
This year's 'Students Rebuild' project is entitled "Facing Difference Challenge". The project involves creating self portraits to express who we are and what we value. In the process we explore how we all have wonderful differences that make this world a richer place. For each portrait created and sent in to Students Rebuild, the Bezos Foundation will donate $6.00 to support programs run by CARE and Search for Common Ground, helping youth on different sides of conflict build peace.
How did it go?
Our group worked for several weeks on our self portraits, but we started out studying how wonderfully different we all are. We looked at other cultures as well as our own. We completed 22 self portraits and sent them in to Students Rebuild. That resulted in $132 ($6 per portrait) being donated to programs that help everyone face our differences and value everyone.
