The Problem

The project is to create a community food forest and native habitat. The food forest will provide fruit, nuts, and berries for those in need of the County. It will be a partnership with youth of all ages, as well as adults, families, the entire community. Working together to create a thriving natural environment for foraging, bird and animal viewing, as well as having nut and fruit trees to harvest. The forest garden would also allow for seed saving. Creating and saving seeds of hope.

Our Plan

The project involves working with the local forest preserve district. The land is secured, and some trees and perennials have already been planted. Next is to meet with all who are interested in leading the way, plan the over all design and plant.
