The Problem

Plants are Important! Specifically, plants that are native to each region are important, because pollinators and other animals are adapted to them and need them to survive. Planting native species in our classroom garden will attract birds and butterflies, and help teach our students how healthy ecosystems function in nature.

Our Plan

Through a series of classroom and outdoor experiences, our students will learn about the life cycle of the monarch butterfly, learn the names of many birds, wildflowers, and trees native to our region, and bring this new awareness home to their families and friends.
