The Problem

Our summer campers have formed a small Roots & Shoots Club during the after camp program. Together, they explored what means most to them in our community and decided that our local wildlife is at the top of the list! We narrowed down some ideas, and felt that a lemonade stand would work best during our short 6 week program. We will raise money for an organization that supports wildlife in New York City.

Our Plan

Our campers did some research and found a worthy organization in Urban Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitation. This organization treats sick, injured, orphaned, and otherwise distressed NYC wildlife, and releases them back into their natural habitat. For two weeks, campers will run a lemonade stand to raise money, and donate it directly to the organization. We also hope to have a field trip to visit the facility!
