What is your wish for this project?

Our group is taking an hour tour of this organization to better understand the purpose of identifying, making available and keeping GMO-free native seeds to our area. This organization was a part of making UNESCO Tucson the first city of Gastronomy.

How did it go?

The tour of Native Seed/SEARCH was an hour long, and very informative. A few highlights were the walk-in freezer with over 600 varieties of corn, as well as tasting many of the crops planted around the building, all grown from seed. It was interesting to learn about the native populations in Tucson and nearby areas obtaining seeds from the bank to continue to grow food they have used for centuries.
