What is your wish for this project?

Our goal is to educate students and their families about the importance of recycling electronics and cell phones. Recycling is essential to the preservation of gorillas because an ore used in these electronics called Coltan is mined in Central Africa where the gorillas live. Mining for this ore is destroying gorilla's habitat, threatening their survival.

How did it go?

The Gorilla Girls worked very hard for several months researching gorillas. They presented their research at the Fox Chapel STEAM Night. Students and their families visited the classroom dedicated to the work done by the Gorilla Girls and learned all about basic facts, threats to their survival, gorilla's habitat and their methods of communication.
