IN front of my school we have a 20 foot by 30 foot piece of grass that is not being used for anything. We also have a fig tree and a plum tree with some bulbs that could use some company. I want my school to be attractive to when parents come in and see how much pride we take in the outside appearance and the community around. There are a lot of urban farmers also in the neighborhood and I would like to purchase native bee food plants to attract more bees and help both ours and their plants.

Our "Help Our Garden" project consists of beautifying our school garden by painting our wooden garden crates and making a welcoming banner to place at the entrance of the garden with the hope of attracting more visitors so they can take advantage of the fruits and vegetables that we grow there. We also help to sustain our garden by buying more seeds and gardening supplies.

We have begun our garden seed by planting peas, garlic and onion in addition to our perennial herbs (sage and rosemary). We plan on planting, three types of squashes, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, parsley, basis, cilantro, brussel sprouts, and green beans. In the months of may and June, we plan on planting these vegetables from seeds by direct sowing them. We will need help to ensure that the plants are watered regularly throughout the summer months, when school is not in session.
