The Problem

This year's project will focus on the children developing problem solving strategies . Students will cite their investigations and work to support "small changes" to help develop citizenship gaining understanding of animal, human and environmental interdependence.

Our Plan

After developing a community map and brainstorming our own wonderings students called upon a community focus. They are seeking community leaders to support their first focus .Launching our studies with a recognition of International Peace Day we created poems and illustrations and our first cause this year is to support humane treatment of animals close to our community. We will write letters to the city mayor and petition community leaders to examine the treatment of the animals at the Central Park Carriage. Last year our petitions were recognized by President Obama. Through small changes and actions we can make a difference. We recently completed investigations of endangered animals and published petitions which we shated school wide.
