In our project lots of people will be able to help the stray animals by supporting our team. Our team was founded from a kid and helps everyday over 40 strays which live in the streets and need forever families! We are doing spay and neuter, feeding and animal health programs. At the same time we are educating kids in the schools on how to be responsible owners and we help them to learn that every animal needs a second chance! How to help: Did you know that on average a stray animal lives approximately only 2-3 years? By doing the following simple things you can save a stray animal: 1) You can adopt or foster a stray animal which needs you!Nothing can replace the warmth of a family! 2)You can offer medical care to an injured stray. 3)You can spay and neuter a stray in your neighborhood in order to avoid the increase of the stray animals. 4)You can put food and water bowls for the hungry and thirsty strays. 5)You should speak up for every cruel action against animals! 6)You can educate your friends to follow these simle steps! A stray animal aims to your compassion!

Pet owners buy so much pet food and it comes in big plastic bags. Often, these bags are bound for the landfill. "Fido Recycles Too" reuses these bags to create durable, reusable grocery bags simultaneously reducing the single use bags and reusing potential waste. In order for "Fido Recycles Too" to really make a difference, people need to know why single use bags are so detrimental to the environment. Therefore, this project will include an interactive educational display to be used in conjunction with the distribution of "Fido Recycles Too" bags. Local farmers markets, environmentally focused grocery stores, and the county fair will be the first venues for "Fido Recycles Too." Pet owners and non pet owners alike can help this project succeed, by reusing pet food bags and helping to educate the public.

The program is called "The Stray" (Adespotos in Greek) and the protagonist is a stray dog. The dog is a fingerpuppet that we use in the kindergarten and it symbolizes every stray animal on the streets of the city. The cartoonist Vaggelis Papavasiliou has also helped us with the program and he designed the picture of “The Stray”. The children in my kindergarten classroom have named themselves “the buddies of The Stray”. The program lasts throughout the year, and the Stray is involved in children's daily lives. Through the children the parents are involved too, which I consider as the best way for spreading the program’s goals. It is a cross-curricular program that is implemented through literary activities, visits to vets, contact with people active in the field of animal welfare (clubs), videos with animal content, as well as creating videos which raise awareness over the responsibilities of adopting of an animal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwFRPN2Bh44&t=92s One of the program actions is "The Bucket of the Stray" This is the reuse of the popular package of one kilo of yoghurt as a collection of family food leftovers and their promotion to stray animals.

Every year we look forward to making these edible necklaces for the chimpanzees at the Chimps, Inc sanctuary in Bend, Oregon. We hope to increase our awareness of the problems with wild animals being used by the entertainment industry, drug companies, and being raised in people's homes. It feels good to bring some joy into these chimps lives. The necklaces are made with cherrios, dried fruit (figs, apples, two kinds of dates, raisins) and natural jute string. Before making the necklaces, we learned about the individual chimps at the sanctuary, as well as their distinctive personalities. They each have a sad story of abuse and neglect prior to arriving at Chimps, Inc. Sancturary.

Our project is helping the homeless animals in the shelters. By attending animal shelter events, one can simply ask for donations during the event that can be given to the animal shelter foundation. We also had a school wide drive to collect blankets, pillows, milk bone treats, and dog bowls. By helping with this event, our members helped to "drain the kennel" and attempted to make every animals dream come true (to have a home).
