Our project will unite third graders with members of the community and the Climate Colorado organization. Together we will brainstorm ways to help our state prepare for climate change and create a more sustainable future. We will participate in a dynamic, rapid-prototyping entrepreneurial process to solve climate challenges. Once we have our solutions, they will be added to a virtual geospatial map, which is accessible to all Coloradans. This map allows people to see our solutions and encourages positive change for all.
The project is already set up and the final testing is this summer, After this we will start with massive promotion all over Qatar. Next school year another roof garden will be set up in our school to cover the full roof top.
We will be providing free summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) sessions for kids that will introduce them to key concepts through hands-on fun experiments. We will also teach them how to use library materials to research questions.
We will begin partnering with local organizations to run several bike events in our community!
Twelve books of the Earth Manifesto are in process, with the first nine of them are now available from Lulu Publishing, and all the essays can be read online. Common Sense Revival - Book One of the Earth Manifesto could dramatically influence leaders in our communities and religious establishments and halls of power through the moral force of the convictions expressed.
The OMEGA system uses natural and artificial bays that are common worldwide and will become more common with sea-level rise. Overall, OMEGA provides food, water, and energy and simultaneously improves the coastal environment by eliminating pollution. It also increases awareness of alternative energy and promotes a sustainable blue-green economy. OMEGA consists of large flexible plastic tubes, called photobioreactors. Floating in seawater, the photobioreactors contain freshwater algae growing on wastewater and concentrated carbon dioxide. These algae are among the fastest growing plants on Earth. If an OMEGA system was used in San Francisco Bay, it would occupy less than 1 percent of the Bay and it would produce at least 2 million gallons of fuel annually or about 20 percent of the diesel San Francisco's fleet of municipal vehicles consume. The water from the algae cultures is not released into the ocean, but further treated with a process developed by NASA for space exploration that makes it clean enough to drink. On the surface, the OMEGA system transforms solar energy into electricity and heat from solar panels and into biofuels from the algae.
I am planning to gather from the students their family cost of energy usage both in terms of heating/cooling, electricity and transport. I would then have the students do a mapping of their community land for all the renewable sources of energy; a land that is blessed with 365 days of sunshine, and heavy winds apart from green oasis. Then I would do experiments for making solar cells from kitchen materials and wind mill prototype!
There will be a series of classes, lectures, visits to project sites and follow up study materials for students. We will also promote summer and winter camps for primary and middle school children with intensive environmental awareness classes offered. Our first camp was successfully concluded in July 2016.
We plan to carry out a Fruit Tree Plantation activity at WWF Wildlife reserve in Lahore Pakistan. The reserve houses many indigenous as well has imported species of birds. Due to the rapid urbanization of the city birds have lost their habitats. Plantation of fruit trees will attract more birds and provide more fruits for the resident birds. This activity will help provide birds with a habitat while cleaning and cooling the air.
Make a video to show how easy it is to compost everyday at home. Spread the message and sell biodegradable 3 gallon food water bags to raise money to become a chimpanzee guardian.
