Ministering to youth comes with a lot of challenges and puppets can help to overcome many of them. Children enjoy having fun during puppet presentations while learning at the same time. When you create a fun and educational environment, children will respond positively.

A mini grant will provide us with the opportunity to facilitate a camp that is geared towards the current issues our youth are facing. With teen suicide rates increasing, we feel this will be a good opportunity to provide a positive outlet to address their concerns

Year-long...we add to this, periodically. We want to add a branch to do with animals and the environment, as well!

The KYE-YAC CLUBHOUSE will be designed to inspire youth and engage them in science through exploration, investigation, play, and literacy. We will have weekly programs aimed at inspiring pre-school children to have compassion for the earth and all life that inhabits it. It will be specifically designed for encouraging preschool-aged children to meaningfully examine and experience the everyday world around them. We will have the KYE-YAC CLUBHOUSE present innovative learning opportunities in a safe environment. The focal point of the new exhibit will be a unique “tree house” which toddlers can climb around and explore. Next to the treehouse, local artists will create an original mural depicting a giant tree with three-dimensional leaves filling the walls with native animals and birds - adding visual stimulation to further spark the curiosity of young “scientots” as they explore the world around them. Age appropriate books will be available to foster literacy based learning and programs will be held several times a week with science projects, crafts, reading, and play!

Our scholars and volunteers will be walking/running for a cause! We will walk/run for one mile around the neighborhood and at the end of the event, our scholars will be able to throw color dust on themselves, their friends and teachers! Scholars will be paying to walk/run, however there will be expenses such as water, color dust, t'shirts and snacks.

20 students will recount stories from their lives, with a variety of experiences, both memorable and deeply moving. All of the authors are English language learners, and they wish to inspire others to keep going "one more day", even when the circumstances around them may seem dire and uncontrollable. Each of the students is driven by empathy for so many others impacted by natural disasters, and they simply want to help in some small way. The writing process will not only serve others, but enhance the language and writing skills of our many authors with an authentic purpose. The funding will be used to purchase quality photobooks to send to various libraries and classrooms nationwide, and to Mexico.

We will take middle school kids out on a trail and teach them about Leave No Trace learning, while picking up trash and learning to recognize where people have harmed the environment and how to fix it. We will learn about the Native Communities and how they lived with and on the land we now live on, and how they survived, and why they are no longer as prominent as they used to be.
