We have already started with the chicken waterers, we have are replacing an inefficient, dirty waterer with a water line that provides fresh clean water to our chickens. We started that project a week ago and are half way done. Our next project to tackle is to re-route dirty pond water from runoff to storm drains, to gardens that will love the nitrogen rich water. Our last project in this series is to fill a pond that has no pump system for our waterfowl as an extra water space, and create a pump system that uses human energy, like perhaps a bicycle, to pump this water to a food forest that we will be planting in the near future.

We will go one Saturday to this Rescue Horse Farm in the middle of the woods. There we will help clean the horse stalls and re-hay them. Also we will help clean the various other pens and fill the water bowls for all the different types of animals. Then we will spend a little time with the animals that have been abused, abandoned, and struck by illnesses and we will brush them to give them some care.

I am painting these pictures of endangered animals because I want people to know that they are loosing their habits and food. It makes me feel super sad so I want to help by selling these paintings and donating the money to make sure none these wonderful animals ever go extinct. Please like and share my Facebook page where you can see all of my paintings! This project will be on going because I want to paint 3,000 animals over the next 9 years. As of right now I have donated $4,000 to IFAW. If you are interested, you can look at my gallery or buy prints here. http://www.artpal.com/Pigtailsart https://facebook.com/Facesoftheendangered/

On certain Fridays and Saturdays during the school year, students meet at Hillside school and are assigned a certain part of Hillside's meadows and trails to work on. For example, adding wood chips to our trails, cutting weeds, organizing the tool shed, discarding pollution from the pond, and maintaining the butterfly garden.

As a class we will clear weeds and debris from the sectioned off area. We will then spread soil and plant native wild flowers and plants. We will then release butterflies that were raised from the larva stage in science class.
