For our project, we attended and presented at the YES (Youth for Environmental Sustainability) Conference, a youth conference in the Bay Area for over 1,000 teens, where we spoke about invasive species in our community and led a hands-on game to teach over 30 students about the topic.

Students will come up with solutions for improving wildlife habitat on this property and solving some of the issues related to wildlife. This will include coming up with proposals for how to manage the beaver dams that are causing flooding issues in the close upstream neighborhood, managing invasive species, and putting in bird boxes to increase the bird habitat on the property. First, we will have an identification stage where students identify some of these problems. Then, there will be a planning stage where students create proposals for action. Then there will be the implementation stage where students implement the projects they have planned. Last, there will be a community outreach stage where students present their projects to the community.

We haven't planned all of them, but so far, we've participated in the World Peace Day, "I Will" Campaign in September and the Red Ribbon Brigade for the Troops. (We made them and wear them every Friday in honor and rememberance.)

This project will hopefully inspire the general public to consider the impact of their actions as well as reduce their pollution into the nearby environment.
Greece
We will seperate our project in 3 discrepant sections. The first one will be about pollution in the forest, since people scatter litter all over the landscape. The following one will be about the never-ending fires in it. People keep doing it even though it is forbidden to light up one no matter your intentions, leading to numbers of conflagrations to increase constantly. The last section will be abput the stray animals that are wandering all over the village, even in the forest, dying from starvation or in the cases of ''Fourni'' by hunters shooting them accidentally or even on purpose.

The students have started their garden with growing cabbages. They have put them in pots at this point and taking good care of them. Their plan is to create garden beds to transfer these plants and take care of them from there. They will share the harvested cabbages with the families that need them. They are sharing this with their family and friends, so they can start a garden at their home too. The students will be collecting photos of the plants/crops to see how successful their gardens are.

This project helped to introduce the students, families and their friends to one another, try new dishes and talk about new and healthy ways to eat. It also started conversations about our environment as the park and weather was so beautiful.

We are going to enclose and cultivate an unexploited piece of land at the yard behind the school. At the beginning of the project the help of the village community will be essential. The pupils will seed and adopt this piece of land throughout the year. In the school garden we will plant ornamental flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. Later, when the shoots grow, we will organize a day of healthy diet and focus on the importance of vegetables and fruits. This event will be open to the all the residents of the village and the local authorities.
