This Festival will take place in early December 2017. It will feature powerful art works, speakers and workshops. Performances feature works which combine world-class musicians, videos filled with natural images and the work of environmental artists and tapes which fill the space with 'music concrete' compositions comprised of hundreds of natural sounds. These works take the audience on a journey through natural settings and into mythological space. They shake people by the collar, make immediate the terror of climate change and leave them in spiritual awe at the beauty of nature. Speakers, such scientists and leaders of local environmental organizations will provide education and blue prints for action steps. We hope that this combination of Reason and Emotion may result in lasting action. There are two main events. The 11AM event is for family audiences, the evening event is more hard hitting.

Our project is to pick up all of the trash and salvage the reusable resources within it to create at least one (if not more) trash cans for the community to properly dispose of their trash there in the future.

In order to improve the environmental habitat in our school community, we will go around our block and collect all of the trash left by the students at Cedar Park High School. This is only a temporary solution, but in order to stop or reduce the pollution caused by the students, we plan to create posters, not only informing about the long term environmental consequences, but the short term ones, as well. We will post these posters throughout the school to hopefully inform the students about the harm they are doing when they engage in simple acts like leaving trash on the ground.

This project will bring marine education to a community of K-5 low-income students, through 2D animation and 3D printing. WonderKids, through the University of Southern California (USC), is a program established to bring Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) related lessons to a total of 100 students per semester in the local elementary schools, taught by undergraduate and graduate students. WonderKids will therefore bring the project curriculum into the classrooms. Ultimately this project will be a compilation of lesson plans and documentation of the classrooms on a website, to be accessed by the students as well as provide the teachers with a step by step process for creating the digital arts projects. This project stems from research on gray whales conducted by Carrie Newell as well as a minor thesis, therefore beyond making the website publicly accessible, we hope to share the project with involved networks to increase visibility and impact. The website will be posted on Carrie Newell’s whale watching website, USC’s Joint Educational Project (JEP), working with 75 classrooms, will also have access to the curriculum for future purposes and the project will be shared with the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA), expanding the impact to 750 educators around the country and to the students those teachers impact.

We will take a field trip from Maplewood Elementary to the Travis County Landfill and then to Texas Disposal System's landfill and recycling center. Students will take a tour of the facilities and learn why it is important for us to recycle correctly and to reduce, reuse, or recycle at every opportunity. Green Team students will then return to school and teach their classmates what they learned on the trip, encouraging others to earn their 3Rs badges for their classrooms as they assist our custodial team with correctly, consistently recycling and composting in the classroom.

The project will create a discussion about the season, changes that happen during that season, how animals adapt, and how people adapt. The seasonal scene will ignite a creative response that the students will write and illustrate creating a seasonal class book.

Our project will provide birds with food which in turn will benefit their natural habitat. We will complete this by hanging up a bird feeder in the area in which the construction is happening. We believe this construction caused many birds and animals at that to flee from their original habitat.

The member of the club will read and research about famous girls and women who have shown bravery and grit in their lives and in their passions. They will conduct projects and activities based on the information they learn that will help to strengthen their self esteem, their perseverance and their community engagement (sharing projects with the school and town community).
