Over international borders( many of those fighting in middle eastern wars) the environment and protecting the world we live in is often forgotten. What if we could possibly bring children of different war torn countries together to not only create peace but to make a difference in there communities through sustainability. With war in many scenarios comes loss of money and education. Why don't we educate people on how to create environmentally sustainable power by not only helping them save money but help the world we all live in. But let's start small why not create small gardens in homes and schools to represent sustainability as well as the strive for peace. Lets now start even smaller and brainstorm a way to help send the knowledge and supplies to start these gardens of peace and grow sustainability over seas. Let's make a difference. Let's make peace. Let's have fun and make new friends!!!!

in 2014 the International Day of Peace was celebrated by R&S groups in Uganda. During the celebrations, a number of activities were carried out, these included; assembling and flying the peace dove, matching through Lugard Avenue. The match was flagged off by Dr. Panta Kasoma (Executive Director of JGI Uganda) who noted that pupils are peace ambassadors in their school and communities. He said that peace goes beyond the absence of war in the country. He talked to the students about human beings being stewards of the earth and therefore charged with the responsibility of taking care of environment and animals but not to misuse them. He highlighted the floods in Kampala as one of the manifestations of how human activities have greatly degraded the environment. The pupils of St Theresa presented a poem in which they expressed their concern about lack of respect for their rights as children. They highlighted the high number of children not going to school due to lack of school requirements even when their parents can afford to get money for other things such as alcohol, negligence by parents leading to diseases and high rate of drug use and domestic violence. They called upon the concerned stakeholders to support and fight for children rights because they are the future of this country. A tree was planted at the school as a reminder that peace is not only the absence of war but also harmony with nature.

We made the cards on February 11 with construction paper donated by the Art Department that they wanted to get rid of, old magazines, old scraps of ribbon, and other items we have saved over the years. We distributed them on February 12 in teachers' mailboxes.

This project is meant to kick off a service learning/ social justice initiative. This funding will allow us to hold a community meeting of interested parties to engage in a conversation about how to best engage students in understanding the community where they go to school, it's significant history and there role as citizens of that community. This meeting will help to build community awareness and buy-in for the project as well as be a means to gather individuals who already are willing to contribute time and talent to the project.

Riverfield faculty, students, and families gathered on September 231, 2014 on the downtown Tulsa Guthrie Green and provided student music, fun and engaging hands-on activities, and a march with the Peace Doves around Guthrie Green. It was a beautiful day to spread the word of Peace and fly our Peace Doves the students made at school.

My goal for this project is to set up collection boxes within the community so people can easily drop off their old electronics. I have handed out flyers to let people know where they can drop their electronics off, and many flyers will remain in the town's garden center, so people can pick them up as they choose.
