We will be planting in 25 different areas of campus. Five gallon California plants will bring exciting new green space for our students to learn from.

Our project will provide shade to the student when they have performances or assemblies on the stage. We would also like to beautify our stage is we have the money and add a sound system so that parents can hear students when they speak during the assembly.

Students will build birdhouses and plant flowers to attract bees, birds, and butterflies.

We will be measuring the amount of compost that is produced every week and track the usage of compost over time. We also hope to survey students on whether they actually use the composting bins that we have implemented. Finally, as a last measure, we will do soil testing through our AP Environmental Science class to see whether the composting regions are more nutrient rich.

I will construct an informational kiosk with a plywood board on which relevant information can be posted using pressure treated pine wood and galvanized steel hardware.

We will start with a training session about what tools we will use to document the trees and how to determine what species they are and what condition they are in. Then we will go out and start documenting some of the trees.

Riley and I have decided to host a river cleanup with the help of a friend of Mrs. Judah’s; Stephanie Bastianon. Once she responds we hope that our classmates, families, and the community will show up to make our beautiful Petaluma gorgeous.

We are going to plant some vegetation around a lot behind a school. People drive by the lot all day and look at its current ugly state. And I want to make the lot look beautiful and not ugly.

We will create a mural in our building exemplifying the 3Bs (Be kind, Be respectful, Be responsible) so all children can be inspired daily! We will also put on skits on the 3B's for our youngest students in the school to help them grow into amazing members of the school community!
