We will pick up trash until the entire area is clean.

We'll clean up litter from a hiking trail by our school. Then we'll put up a no-littering sign!

This project will improve the quality of the gardens. We will do this by creating a compost pile in the back yard.

Our project is to pick up all of the trash and salvage the reusable resources within it to create at least one (if not more) trash cans for the community to properly dispose of their trash there in the future.
Israel
We are a group of first and second graders living in Tel Aviv and attending an after-school English program. We are learning about Dr. Jane Goodall and were excited to find out about the roots & shoots program! After studying our neighborhood we realized that many people around us don't know how important nature is! We live in a big city and and are lucky to have beautiful parks and beaches close by, but sometimes the air is dirty, people don't always recycle, and trees and plants aren't always appreciated. We want our project to help people appreciate, love and enjoy nature! We are working on an educational campaign and are excited to begin our project!

Students will plant and take care of the school garden. They will problem solve as the plants grow and learn about their needs. They will advertise and sell their produce for the purpose of raising money for a local charity in a final "Little Chief Marketplace" at the end of the school year.

It will bring awareness of the importance of the sustainability of both local produce and human relations.

Our project will inspire the young generation to engage in recycling and a more sustainable way of living. Through placing recycling bins within each one of our classrooms, we will highlight the importance of conservation and encourage students to protect our environment for many years to come. As they adapt to a sustainable lifestyle, they will enhance the alarming condition of our planet and become influential leaders who inspire other individuals to do the same. By receiving this mini-grant, our group will have the opportunity to make a strong and life-changing impact towards our campus and student body as a whole.

Our project will bring food production to our campus, and be a wonderful addition to the freight farm vertical hydroponic farm we will be running near it. It will bridge the school to community gap by bringing the community onto campus. Our project has the added bonus of bringing some interest and landscape to a drab Colorado school landscape! We intend to surround the garden with native flowering plants to bring pollinators, and bird houses to attract bluebirds.
