Our TaylorAde Healthy Kids (THKC)Project will support our community wide healthy eating initiative. Our THKC members will be responsible for promoting healthy eating habits by conducting informative, fun, healthy eating workshops weekly. By creating healthy eating posters to post around schools, and public family friendly spaces will help inform recruitment of parent and student volunteers to help promote awareness the hunger issues and encourage healthy eating habits in the East Brooklyn Community. We will offer nutritious eating workshops for parents, children and seniors as well provide informational resources to food pantries and food supplement centers. We are very interested in partnering with the Food Bank of NY to provide Healthy Bucks for Families in need. By partnering with the Food Bank, THKC will receive exposure through our comprehensive media campaigns, event and campaign materials, website, quarterly newsletter and monthly E-Newsletter. Food Bank For New York City offers dynamic partnership opportunities from our high profile organizations and media outlets all to help end hunger throughout the five boroughs.

On Global Youth Service Day, April 16, 2016 we will have the first-ever county STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) festival. The festival will have 24 booths consisting of area businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that will demonstrate through hands-on activities to children, the importance of STEM in their everyday lives. We will also have a stage with speakers throughout the event. We will partner with county leaders, libraries, schools, the County History Museum, and the Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department to engage as many youth volunteers as possible, show the community of organizations available to support community efforts, and to educate families about the importance of environmental and educational efforts to improve our community. Through the engaging speakers and activities, we will encourage children's interest in STEM-related subjects at school and increase their interest in pursuing STEM careers, lowering the gap in STEM career achievement for our large Hispanic community.
