We are planning to take a trip to our local beach near Lake Erie to do a clean-up. Students are also going to design flyers to hang up in restaurants to let people know to use reusable bags and to have people say "No thanks!" to a plastic straw when served a drink. Students are currently doing research on how much money is spent on the purchase of the Styrofoam food trays in order to help with cost comparisons of alternatives to the trash accumulation by the schools on a daily basis. They are then going to present their idea to the school board and give them options of how to make this positive change that will help reduce waste in our environment. In addition to this, the students are going to start a recycling program and repurpose some of the trash into eco-benches and other useful items.
Our project will focus on STEM outdoor learning and Earth Day core goals to: • Broaden the Meaning of Environment • Promote Civic Engagement and Mobilize the Tulsa Community by working with partner organizations to provide opportunities for community to become active in the environmental movement; build relationships • Implement Environment Education Programs and engage students to solve local environmental problems; • Inspire Students to Become Environmental Leaders through awareness at an early age; strengthen the environmental community in schools; • Understand the benefits of clean water, energy conservation, recycling and sustainable healthy food • To have fun and celebrate Earth Day We have pre and post event learning objectives for the students; surveys for the vendors and volunteers and are matching the learning to the grade school curricullum. We have ovr 50 booths and interactive hands on activities to promote learning. Center stage performances are fun, educational and engaging.
We will begin by writing up a mission and vision statement, as well as an impact goal. Then: - undergo a review of the current situation regarding the health and wellbeing of the elephants. - create and manage a mahout program empowering the mahouts to be support the conversation message the foundation - create business plan We expect it will take one year to create the foundational program
We will apply for a booth as a non-profit at the Saturday Morning Market in downtown St. Petersburg. Our booth will feature boards made by the kids about Jane Goodall and Roots and Shoots. We will also do some fundraising for their current project...fish.
Third graders will make a plan with a clean up schedule. Our school has adopted our street, so we will clean there and on school grounds. We will recycle what we can from the collection and hope this makes our community nicer and safer for all people and animals.
We will make a movie for all students of our school telling them what we do (collecting mobile phones), why we do it (rescue apes) and how everybody can take part to rescue nature. We made research about: -life and biology of chimpanzees -the deforestation of the rainforest in africa and its consequences for the apes and also the whole planet -the resources used in mobile phones (50 different components are used for the production of mobile phones e.g. Tangle, Lithium..) -research about ecologically friendly mobile phones ("the Fair-Phone", eco-friendly usage of mobile phones) - research about the usage of mobile phones in our school - waste management in general (e.g. why is it important to separate the waste and to bring old mobile phones back to the production cycle) We named our project "family first" because our next close relatives in the animal kingdom are chimpanzees.
Os objectivos deste projecto são: reciclar telemóveis; consciencializar o público para esta crise humana, animal e ambiental; e incentivar a propagação da campanha por todo o país.
to organize and decorate your room with nature
Our project will do four things. 1) The participants will pick a topic they feel passionately about and will make a small poster about said topic. 2) In keeping with our understanding of ecophobia the poster will strive to utilize as positive a message as possible. 3) Each of the posters will utilize recycled materials when at all possible (ie. magazine words and pictures, etc). 4) When completed, all posters will then be attached to a much larger poster to be displayed for the public.
We will make signs, send out social media flyers, and place boxes around campus. We will collect electronics in person outside the lower gym before school that week.
