The 2010 Event on the Santa Monica Pier
Basic Info:
What: Each year, in support of the United Nations International Day of Peace, Roots & Shoots members and friends come together to promote peace. Throughout the day, enjoy arts & crafts, games, eco-friendly exhibitors and non-profits, and much more. Young attendees will be able to participate in Passport to Peace, an exciting and educational activity where participants travel from booth to booth of eco-friendly and peace promoting exhibitors, taking part in fun activities and learning important lessons along the way.
The event culminates in the Peace Parade. All over the world, young people craft Giant Peace Dove Puppets from reused materials and fly the Doves in parades in their communities. From the Pier in Santa Monica, to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, to the low plains of Kansas, Peace Doves fly, held high by hopeful hands.

Who: All ages, groups, and community members are welcome to attend and celebrate the Roots & Shoots International Day of Peace on September 19, 2010.

Calling all Roots & Shoots Groups! We are so excited to see you at the Day of Peace celebration 2010. This year we are inviting our groups to arrive early for a fun Roots & Shoots meet-and-greet. This optional activity is a great way to connect with other Roots & Shoots groups from all over the state. More information coming soon! To attend the Day of Peace as a R&S group, please submit a Group Registration Form.
