Day of Peace 2008

In September 2008, Roots & Shoots California supported Dr. Jane Goodall’s vision of peace by celebrating with over 2,000 participants, vendors, exhibitors, students, R&S groups and celebrities in Griffith Park—all dedicated to doing their part to shift consciousness towards peace.  There were over 50 exhibitors ranging from non-profit organizations to organic clothing companies, including 18 R&S groups and 30 Giant Peace Doves. Pierce Brosnan, his wife Keely and sons gave the keynote address and led the Giant Peace Dove Parade. Live entertainment included Gavin Rossdale, formerly of the band Bush, Cord with Rami Jaffee from the Foo Fighters and other local bands and performers. Actor Daryl Hannah shared messages of peace while the Hot Moms Club coordinated a eco-fabulous celebrity fashion MC’d by Anna Getty and Shiva Rose.  Celebrity appearances and messages of peace were given by Darryl Hannah, Josie Maran, Ricki Lake and more. Gwen Stefani and her son Kingston were present and took time to pose with R&S youth groups.
