On Earth Day, April 22, youth gathered at the Boston Children¿s Museum to play and learn from Roots & Shoots volunteers about local waterways, animals and how you can help the earth even from inside your home. We continued to celebrate the earth on Saturday, April 25 with Mass Audubon¿s Statewide Volunteer Day. R&S volunteers from across the region helped at five Mass Audubon Sanctuaries to restore wetlands, learn about butterflies and prepare an orchard for spring. Thank you to all of the R&S members who came out to work at these beautiful sanctuaries and celebrate Earth Day! The Cambridge Science Festival also kicked off on Saturday with Roots & Shoots veterans, the Sprouts of Hope, presenting their work on energy efficiency and inspired Festival attendees of all ages. The Festival continued throughout the week of April 25 - May 3 across the city of Cambridge, Mass.
