Roots & Shoots New England Announces 2010 Minigrants!
01/12/2010

Jane Goodall¿s Roots & Shoots, the Jane Goodall Institute¿s global environmental and humanitarian youth program, is excited to announce grants of $150-$250 to support youth-led service projects in New England. Up to 8 mini-grants will support youth groups (pre-K through college age) in planning and implementing service projects.

We encourage youth to address the theme of ¿Local Service & Global Change!¿ consistent with the belief that Roots & Shoots groups implement local service projects that affect global change!

Download the 2010 Mini-Grant Application here. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through March 15, 2010.

We encourage ¿Local Service & Global Change¿ mini-grant applications for projects concentrating one or more of the following themes:

  • World Harmony - We are constantly inspired by the work of our Roots & Shoots members and by our founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, D.B.E. and United Nations Messenger of Peace, to spread a vision of world harmony in our communities. Your group¿s vision of world harmony can be broadly interpreted; your project should address the interests of your group, important local or global issues, and promote harmony with or among animals, the environment and the human community.
  • Peace through the Arts - Through the Peace through the Arts campaign, Roots & Shoots New England continues to actively work to inspire people to promote peace¿with people, animals and the environment¿locally and globally, through the use of visual and performing arts.
