Before we were quarantined, GreenTeens101 visited three different stores to hand out free reusable cloth bags for consumers to use rather than the standard plastic grocery bags. By standing in front of stores, we are also able to communicate with consumers about the detrimental effects of plastic bags and had some intriguing conversations.
During the pandemic, we still wanted to continue educating our community. We hosted a mini-hackathon for younger students to participate in our goal of helping our environment. We had high schoolers speak of their research projects for fertilization and the impact of “sustainable cities”.
