What is your wish for this project?
Our group wants to join hands with this weekend's coastal cleanup of Lake Michigan. We want to pick up trash and waste that pollute the land and water. Our goal is to protect the water, land and animals that border Lake Michigan.
How did it go?
On September 19th The Dewey School Roots and Shoots Peace Weavers made a beach clean up happen at Dempster street beach. We picked up many bags of garbage and litter that were in the dunes and on the b each. We mostly found small pieces of plastic called microbeads (Microbeads are tiny sphericals of plastic that are in products such as face scrubs and shampoo) and cigarette and cigar butts.
