What is your wish for this project?
We, members of the young forrest rangers, live in a touristic area, known for its natural beauty, its major waterfall Gocta, and its biodiversity. We wish to inform and guide visitors to respect our environment and learn improved behaviors. Cutting orchids to take them out of their habitat is one of the problems we face. WE WISH TO STOP THIS!
How did it go?
It was a lot of work and a lot of fun. The program lasted one week and had several activities: We built a kiosk in the town, where tourists got information about the orchids in the forest and our need to protect them. They could buy a t-shirt to help us fund reforestation activities. We sold 150 t-shirts.
