The Problem
Our wish is to help feed injured farm animals at Heartland Farm Sanctuary and learn more about how farm animals help people.
Our Plan
The children will attain a recipe for the treats from the sanctuary and bake special healthy treats for the farm animals in February. They will take a field trip to the sanctuary and feed some to the 50 or more injured farm animals, and tour their facility. This close up interaction with the animals, as well as the information learned on the tour will teach the children more about the value of domesticated animals. The children will learn the needs of animals are similar to their own.
