What is your wish for this project?

Our Roots & Shoots groups aim was to combat hunger in our community by volunteering at a local food pantry called the Eleanor Klugh Jackson House, and furthermore, write a grant that would enable the organization to collect data that would eventually impact the hungry and lessen their needs.

How did it go?

On the 29th of April, a dedicated team of nine volunteers met in the wee hours of the morning to begin preparations for lunch-hour- serving time. The group was tasked with cooking and packaging well over one hundred separate meals for impoverished individuals within Garland County. The majority of the food was packaged and ready to serve just as a crowd began form around the food pantry.
