What is your wish for this project?

We hope to transition our school away from using plastic silverware for lunch. Every day, hundreds of students use plastic knives, forks, and spoons that are often thrown away. We aim to replace that plastic silverware with more sustainable alternatives.

How did it go?

We launched a three-week pilot program in conjunction with the school cafeteria company. They provided metal silverware and dishwashing services for students during this time. When the pilot ends, we will evaluate its success and likely ask students to bring their own silverware to school. Already, we have moved recycling bins to encourage recycling.
