The Problem

The goal for our garden is to engage students in a hands-on environment that will give them first-hand experience with nature and gardening. We will use this garden to enhance the knowledge of children regarding nutritional aspects of fruits and vegetables, and the harmful effects of junk food. We will address malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies in our school population by providing freshly grown fruits and vegetables and making them available to families in need

Our Plan

Students will restore the overgrown existing site, build a minimum of 4 garden beds with edibles, plant pollinators, install fencing, and install the mechanisms to provide water to the site as needed. We will construct a compost bin and repair the greenhouse to make it functional.
