The Problem

This program builds upon a child’s natural affinity for pets to provide a real-life context in which teaching social-emotional skills becomes concrete, literally something you can touch. It’s how we get children to step outside themselves to identify how their actions nurture relationships.

Our Plan

Hands-On/Hearts-On: Students and their families will create comfort blankets and adoption bandanas for shelter animals. This lesson focuses specifically on transferring their love and support to an object that adoptable animals will benefit from both physically and emotionally.
