The Problem

Loss of pollinator habitat in an urban area in Raleigh, NC.

Our Plan

Our group would like to install and maintain a new pollinator garden at Walnut Creek Wetland Center in Raleigh. The Center is located in an urban area that is rapidly growing and developing. The garden would be installed in front of the center in an area that is near the sidewalk, parking lot, and road. Our group knows that the heavy development of this area has resulted in habitat loss for pollinators. Installing a new native plant pollinator garden is how we would like to help address this issue. In addition to providing valuable pollinator habitat, our garden would help to add beauty to the area in front of the Center, and it would be used to provide community education and volunteer opportunities going forward.
