We will collect food scraps from campus, process them in a three-bin system and turn the food scraps into compost over a three month period. We will be diverting food scraps from the landfill and utilizing the developed compost in our garden.

We will organize community cleanups every other week, river cleanups when needed, and tree planting events when needed and allowed to by the city! We will gather volunteers, advertise often and effectively, and form community bonds and friendships all while defending our dear environment.

Our local Tar River access by our Town Common park is continuously full of trash. We will hold a Splash for Trash event on 10/13/2018 to clean the area within a two mile radius. We will be soliciting local boat/paddle owners to take youth out to clean the river and walkers for the surrounding areas.

Students will work on reducing the campus waste and start recycling. They will invest the quality of those water fountains around the campus. They will also work on a lot at the back of the campus to grow vegetables or flowers with different type of fertilizer.
