My project will educate people on single-use plastic impact and how to reduce/eliminate it. I will create a single-use plastic free challenge for the month of July for people to join to reduce their single-use plastic waste.

We are collecting plastics from campus trash and recycle bins that will be used for the art install. We will have our first showing on the summer solstice. It will stay on campus for a week and then will be displayed at community centers.

Our project will achieve our dreams of a healthier environment by educating people at the Oakland Zoo. We will focus on the negative effects plastics have on our oceans and what we can change about our daily lives in order to lessen those effects. As well, we will (like we've done in the past) organize more beach cleanups periodically throughout the year to get people from all over the community to be more involved. Beach cleanups are a great way of educating the public about plastic pollution and also gives people a chance to help out. These cleanups bring everyone together to make our world a better place! We have also created a fun station for our Teen Wild Guides to volunteer every weekend! We have teen volunteers who walk around the entire zoo and pick up trash that people leave behind. Trash can be very dangerous for the animals at our zoo and we don't want any of it to find its way into any of the exhibits. We collect a huge bag of trash every time we do this station! Not only does this make the zoo a more beautiful and natural environment, it also shows the visitors what they can do to help maintain the zoo's beauty and fun!

We will continue to reduce and recycle organic matters using the compost bin we created. We will use the compost in our student built raised garden bed near the lunch benches and plant flowers which will invited pollinators such as butterflies and hummingbirds.

We have several campaign goals: 1. Organize a town-wide cleanup in the spring, following the success of our last cleanup 2. Distribute litter collection barrels around town 3. Implement smaller campaigns, such as a social media challenge to pick up 5 pieces of litter every day

Our wish for this project is to increase community awareness on how to properly recycle and keep our parks clean both for humans and wildlife.

The KRB sub committee will plan and organize the town-wide litter cleanup in conjunction with the Great Massachusetts Cleanup and several local businesses and organizations.

It has already inspired students and parents to think about plastic use. It has promoted much thought about the devastation and rubbish waste problem in our world. We wish to keep making our special bags and give them to people to help spread thought and the students good work.

We made posters and we are going to put them near the Charles River Esplanade where people will take notice. We plan to talk to the Esplanade Association and the Mayor's office to tell them about the litter we saw and our desire to make our world healthy and green.

We will create a sanctuary in the wooded area just behind our school. Again our goal is to create habitat that will provide shelter, food, and water to the animals that inhabit this area. Our students will be assisting with habitat preparation, building of shelter, food/water stations for various animals, and create a viewing area a short distance from the sanctuary for viewing and studying local wildlife. We are using recycled wood for most of this project, along with recycled materials as much as possible.
