We're inviting global ‘classrooms’ (can be a physical classroom, before/after-school program, extracurricular program, etc.) to participate in a series of 30-60 minute virtual field trips in July, hosted over the video conferencing software, Zoom. Field trips will feature inspiring individuals, from those starting sustainable social enterprises, to grassroots community organizing, to nonprofit leaders in the environmental field. It is intended to invite under-resourced communities into the global environmental justice conversation, and empower students to develop agency and create change starting in their local community.

By collecting our extra pens and pencils, 200 can fit into a ziplock bag. When anyone is traveling overseas to any part of the world, it's easy to fit the bag into a suitcase and drop them off at a school hospital or orphanage. Even many hotels will help bring it to local towns. It's so simple!! And is such a great need in so many parts of the world. Big companies think of big ideas, and this simple need gets overlooked. We have plenty of extra and can easily help children who need pens and pencils for their education.

Students will be able to give a 3-5 minute talk on their personal connection to sustainability, climate change, and environmental justice. They will be able to share their WHY in a way that inspires and engages others. They will pass out materials that they co-developed with Otis College students that encourage people to “be green” as well as follow up with schools and organizations to find out how their talk impacted them. Student interns will also identify how sharing their story has affected their perception of themselves as leaders and community changemakers. We will collect the number of people reached by the speaker series. Students will also train other students in storytelling on Saturday, May 6 during the Green Ambassadors Institute (www.greenambassadors.org/register).
