At the start of the school year we will begin prepping the garden area for the new plants. We would remove the old soil and plants, prepare the bed for the new soil, decide on plant choices for our particular area, purchase the plants, plant the plants, and then watch and learn as our garden becomes a habitat for local wildlife.
Volunteer to beautify the park (clean ups and graffiti removal), raise awareness about threats to urban wildlife, advocate for a ban on rodenticides to city officials through letter writing and petitions.
We will dig out some invasive plants, cut out the dead branches, and haul them out with a trailer.
The wish is for thousands of young people do do projects that encourage them to get out in nature
We have done this many times before. We had a clean up at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. We had a spokesperson come out to talk to the kids about the dangers of pollution and then sorted all of the trash we collected.
