To create a garden that provides a peaceful place for teachers to retreat to and diverse plants for creatures to live in. The large conference table will also be a place for Roots & Shoots members to meet. We will get approval from our principal to take on this project, get donations of succulents, prep the garden area, and grow a garden over a 3-month period.

Our project will remove invasive plants, plant native growth, maintain existing trails, and create new trails utilizing the Volunteen force from Zoo Atlanta. By doing so, Fernbank Forest, the last real undisturbed old-growth forest in Atlanta, will be reopened to the public and the community can again enjoy and revel in nature.

Job Descriptions that seem to fit: *Supervise, manage and perform work in conservation. *Demonstration of "crafts". We will let the city know that park rangers work in urban, suburban, and rural areas. We found out that to apply, applicants should "contact the appropriate office having jurisdiction over the area of interest to inquire about vacant positions" so we will contact the direction of city recreation, Todd McCoy.

The idea consists of students and parents in our school getting together to plant. We first need to buy the trees then assign trees for each advisory or homeroom to plant. The goal is not only to plant trees but to inform and inspire other schools and kids to plant in their schools and houses. By are school doing a planting project surrounding schools can follow and add to the common goal of bettering the environment. Our school also belongs to a network and I believe that if we begin this project in LPS Hayward, LPS San Jose, Oakland and Richmond will follow. Students will also be informed of the benefits of tree planting and how it has a positive effect in preventing global warming. This project will not only beautify our school but create awareness and give students greener ideas to continue applying in their lives.

My project will be started by taking cuttings of native plants already present in my neighborhood, such as Wild Tamarind, Gumbo Limbo, and Fire Bush. I will then plant them around my school with the help of the rest of Ecology Club. I will add to our thriving native garden and create a "mini-forest" that will help increment the amounts of native insects, birds, and other small animals.

For this project, we will first need to get land somewhere that is convenient and accessible to all people. We may have to write a letter to the government to provide us with this piece of land, and raise donations for other expenses. After that, for a whole day or more, we will welcome members of the community to help prepare and plant the park. After everything has grown- which should take no more than 3 months-, the park will be open to the public. To maintain the park, it will be divided into different sections and each section will be put up for adoption, so the park will be run by the community. We will also employ the local unemployed people in the community to help maintain the park.
